CBQ and Brainstorm Posted: 2008-03-14 11:08:29Hey everybody! Starting March 29th, we'll be recording an episode of CBQ the last Saturday of every month at 7pm at Brainstorm Movies, Comics and Games! Brainstorm is located at 1648 W. North Ave. in Chicago, in lovely Wicker Park, just a few blocks east of the Damen stop on the blue line.
We're hoping to have our Brainstorm recordings be special occasions-- readings, interviews, drag shows, orgies, you name it! So come in so we can sexually harrass you (more)! |
CBQpid Posted: 2007-09-15 07:33:52This upcoming season, we're trying out a segment called CBQpid, where comic book queers (and the occasional straight person) can post audio or video personals ads to find other comic book queers for friendship, dating, freaky circus sex, whatever.
ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd AT 8PM, THERE WILL BE A MIXER AT EVIL SQUIRREL COMICS. CBQ hosts will be there to collect audio and video footage from anyone interested in participating. Evil Squirrel is at 6928 N. Glenwood in Chicago, just off the Morse stop on the red line. This event will be B.Y.O.B.A.W.S.S. (bring your own booze and wear something sexy).
Please note that neither your CBQ hosts and Evil Squirrel Comics are not responsible if you meet someone and find yourself duct-taped to an office chair with Justice League Unlimited Action Figures stuck up your ass. Unless you're into that kind of thing. In that case, you're welcome. |

Podcasts now broadcasting from a new location! Posted: 2007-05-25 19:40:57GentleQueers,
Our podcast feed has moved from Podomatic to our new Comic Book Queers website. What do you have to do? Absolutely nothing. Your iTunes program will automatically find the new podcast location and continue downloading them as usual. You won't miss a moment of comicy queery goodness from the Fabtastic Four.
In fact... you'll have twice as much to love! You will probably notice that episodes 20-32 will appear twice in your CBQ episode list. This is normal; do not adjust your set. You're seeing the episodes from the old site, that you've already downloaded, combined with the listings for the same episodes on the new site. iTunes doesn't know that they're the same, so it shows them twice. But if the episode number is the same, the content is the same, so just ignore the duplicates. (Or, if you really want, delete the old ones and redownload them from the new site. The new copies are more compact, so you'll also save hard disk space that way.)
And this Tuesday, the Queers will release Episode 33, which will only appear on the new site, and so, from then on, no further episodes should appear twice in your list.
Thanks for bearing with us as we complete the transition to our new home.
Your Friendly Neighborhood WebMaster,
Charles |

Episode 31.5 available: All About CAPE Posted: 2007-05-16 06:55:41On May 4, Stevie and Eric went to Dallas to attend CAPE, a kind of mini-convention held in conjunction with Free Comic Book Day.
This episode consists of our discussion about it that was recorded two days after we got back, and a little bit of footage we recorded while we were there.

The CBQ website is officially live Posted: 2007-05-16 05:02:23Ladies and Gentlemen and Others, children of all ages (13 and older!),
With the release of CBQ episode 31, I am able to announce that this CBQ website is live and officially in business.
We're here, we're queer, and we have our own condo on the Inter-web, the best series of tubes since the Chunnel! Listen to our podcast, participate in our forums, be loud and obnoxious -- as long as you're funny! (We're way too immoderate to moderate, so post and read at your own risk....)
The site is brand spanking new, so if you see something quirky, just let me, your friendly neighborhood webmaster, know about it. Future features still in development:
- RSS feeds for CBQ forums -- see the latest posts in your favorite news reader
- A dynamic About Us page that includes forum members who are regular contributors
- Ranked voting lists of favorite writers, artists, comics, etc
- Suggestions? (I can only do so much, but if you get me excited about an idea, or bribe me with organic dark chocolate and Guinness, I'll totally be your software bitch.)
So, Gentlequeers -- have at it! |
